(Indian) House crow, Glanzkraehe, Corvus splendens
The house crow resembles the Hooded crow, but the grey is darker and the back black.
It also is slightly smaller and slimmer, with a long deep bill and a domed crown (which you can’t really see in this shot,…)
The (Indian) House crow i not a natural inhabitant of the Middle East. The colonies are a result of an introduction through India in the last 30 years. The birds probably arrived on grain boats.
In Egypt they breed mainly in towns along the Suez Canal and the Gulf od Suez.
