365-2010 #11 - Wishes
Sep 3rd
Today I got a wish fulfilled that I had for 3 years.
It will be a steep learning curve until we get friends and until the relationship will take the fruits I want it to take.
We shall see.
For today it’s good enough to have it. Fiddling with it can wait until tomorrow. I am too dead tired.
Hubby has only one day off (again) this week and I’ll retire to the Couch and the DVD player now.
My promise to you guys has to wait until tomorrow to be fulfilled ![]()

365-2010 #10 - Bliss
Sep 2nd
Had a happy day today, with some joy in the outside rooftop pool, at the beach with the dogs, in Fahaheel and all that topped by good company.
We finally got our new matrace for the bed, maybe my back stops aching now?
More small things that make me happy, the tripod works well, my remote control works again and I can finally get Photography magazines again
Now I have to work on the picture taking skills and it will be perfect ![]()
Now I’m off to bed. I am dead beat and am looking forward to more than 6 hours rest
Will check in on you all tomorrow. Behave ![]()

365-2010 #9 - Naturelover
Sep 1st
Today I was at the beach two times again.
Early morning, just to walk the dogs and later to let them have their share of fun when all the people are gone.
This morning it was at least 5 cars and one guy on one of those desert bikes, loads of kids, cars stuck in the sand,… guess everyone has their own idea of enjoying nature.
On the second round I had the beach all to myself, well almost. I shared it with the dogs and a bunch of birds.
I finally got a decent shot of a Whimbrel, had the glorious sight of two Grey Herons (migrating to Iraq I was told) passing by low and close and confirmed to myself that there is more than one Ruddy Turnstone around
The Juv. Greater Sand Plover with the oil stain is also still around. He’s growing up nicely and the oil stain is almost gone
Talking of oil. I had a very good conversation with the guy that runs the Clean-up on the beach (besides a lot of other things).
He told me the reasons for the spill, what they did in the main Clean-up period and why they are still there, etc.
I learned a lot of new things and I told him also that I actually am impressed overall with the way things have been handled.
They think they will be around for another few weeks until the oil is gone out of the sand closest to where it spilled.
Thanks for doing a good job and for caring about nature!
The mornings are quite nice these days. Almost cool compared to what we had and without humidity. Temps rise during the day still over 45C and today we had some humidity again.
But I start to hope that the worst might be over.
I had to go in the water for the doggies to go in too. Usually they can’t be stopped and instantly run. I guess the water is too rocky and flat for them & I am not throwing toys. Will do so tomorrow. Spoiled Brats ![]()
And around 10 more days until Life can go back to normal, when shops will be open at normal hours and one can drink some water outside in the searing heat.
Ramadan’s over soon and I will be a happy camper - sorry guys ![]()
And btw. I didn’t forget my goal. I am still playing with the settings of my camera every day, read some pages in that dreaded book and am learning by doing
And I can’t believe this is already Day 9 into the 365 project.
Did I mention that time flies?

Beach on Monday
Sep 1st
Went Monday morning at low tide down to the beach.
Figured to let the dogs get some wet feet, but in case the water is still oily, I at least wouldn’t have to wash the ‘whole dog’.
The dogs roamed around freely, nobody there, I sat in the shade and watched the birds and just chilled.
This time is the Best in the day. You can ignore the background noise, you can ignore the trash (which is less than it has been before, but hey, just give the people some more time)
After a while two guys came along. Guess they were checking on the little ‘animals’ that many of the Asian people collect for food (Clamps?).
Since the dogs were roaming around freely, they were a bit weary. King found some interest in the same area as the two of them and they soon took off. Oups ![]()
