After the storm (part 4)

After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
Speed isn't always the key
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
Some learned to swim
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
Some made it
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
And some didn't
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
New Pool
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
New Pool
After the storm, Sharm el Sheikh, Sinai, Egypt
New fountain

Well, the people in Egypt are not the world’s Best drivers
to begin with (sorry, but it’s true).

In weather like this it can be fatal.

Some smart brains thought they could race through the sometimes very deep puddles.
And learned how to swim.

Or just got stuck.

Some Hotels got new lakes and fountains.

The sewers simply couldn’t handle all the water.

Reports have it, that the drainage was still plugged up
today in many parts of Sharm el Sheikh.

One of my commenters confirmed that indeed part of
the roof of the old airport building came down.

And some roofs on Hotels caved in as well.

So far, we here in Egypt are officially still only with the bare minimum of news.
News from Sharm el Sheikh direct are close to zero.

Check Part one for some links to news Sites.
If you find more, feel free to leave them in the comments
on ‘part 1′ and I’ll add them to the post for the people that
come here in search for news.
Thanks!

Part 5 will come later (or in the morning)

Brigitte

I just read through all of your storm posts. I am so glad you are safe. I am also glad you didn't want/need to get somewhere so badly you were willing to test the depths of that pool.

Danke, Kvelli

@quilly - the dogs did test it - pics of that some time later :)

I am astounded that there is no news coverage. What is up with that?

The puddles are very deep. I'm surprised people would try to drive through them!

Seeing these photos makes me feel a bit better about the unusually heavy rains and big puddles in Southern California right now.

Thanks for sharing these!
