Abandoned buildings at Balaton airport in Hungary - I promised a while back to dig out some of the shots I took there.
Here’s one I like :)

For Lou - part of the building the door belongs to.

1650 km later

We drove to Germany on Sunday. With a big van full of tools for hubby and his work.
Everything went smooth and yesterday I came back to Hungary.
It was a bit strange to drive a big van and have 6 gears, but in the end it was fun :)
The van was empty, so I could really kick some speed when I had to. And it was fun to see some drivers being quite surprised :)
On the Hungarian roads it wasn’t as much fun though. An empty, big van on bumpy roads makes for a weird driving experience. But after a little getting used to it was alright.

I dropped off the van at 3.30 p.m. having the car rental place bitch about me dropping the car off late. Excuse me? I rented that thing until Thursday. Nope, the bitch on the phone said that I was going to call them if that would be the case. Well, not my problem if she doesn’t hear and understand the things right. I wasn’t overly concerned about her bitching. They gave us a car that should have been at the mechanic before and the belt switched.

Picked up the doggies, they were happy little campers to see me. They will miss the food over at the dog pension though, I bet. Porridge in the morning. Rice and chicken in the evening.
King has his sad “nobody loves, me, no snacks and no walks” face on, even after a walk this morning - spoiled brat ;)
I can only recommend this dog pension. Friendly people, a lovely place. Clean Kennels and obviously good food and lots of love :)
They are located right by the Balaton airport. Very convenient!

Got my lazy butt out of the bed early and we went for a walk.

Not the longest one, but the dogs had fun.
I finally saw the first stags. Heard them “fighting” and walked in their direction (through high, wet grass). But all I could manage was this shot:

Oh well.

Picking up hubby

by NicoleB Email

I picked hubby up at the airport today.
I am glad that I don’t have to drive up there every day. It’s only 100km, but the way people drive in Hungary is suicidal.
Like Kuwait, just on smaller roads.

I dropped the doggies off at their pension. Very nice place and friendly people.
Still, I miss them!

The airport at Balaton is a place where I could spend hours roaming around. Old “communist” Russian style buildings. You can roam around freely and snap pictures.
More of these one day.

While waiting for the van (we took a rental to transport the tools to Germany) and hubby to arrive I got a free little flight show.

“Hubby’s” plane after landing and him getting off the plane (you can watch it all right from the fence :)

Soon after hubby arrived, we took the van and went home.

Sometimes there are things people on the road that seem REALLY suicidal.

And sometimes the police catches you, while driving a tad too fast.

Floyd got his first speeding ticket in Hungary. Not overly expensive, but it took them guys close to half an hour to issue it ;)

Friday our stuff from Kuwait is supposed to arrive. We shall see.
(I wrote them some directions, just in case - no GPS)
