So not nice!
By NicoleB on Jan 31, 2008 | In *Life - Leben, Kuwait ('07-'08) | 11 feedbacks »
Twice today. Not so nice experiences.
Two people ended up on the Top of my “I want to kill you” list.
First one this morning on the big dirt field, which I use to walk the dogs and other people us it as a short cut or a race track.
One guy this morning, thanks to my plugged ears I didn’t hear him coming, almost hit King. He drove close by in purpose. I could see it in his face and eyes.
He looked like a Westerner, but I’m not sure. He had two Indians in the car which looked surprised and shocked. Probably also because of MY death stare after the car.
Second one was a few minutes ago.
I was taking the dogs for another quick round in front of the house.
One guy was going to drive off the parking lot, so I waited to let him drive by.
He waved me to go. Thanks to this mornings experience I had the dogs short and stayed close to the parked cars.
Dude drove by, like I had a gut feeling and made rude gestures at me. I’m like WTF?!
I stopped and stared after him. A few meters away he stopped the car. I waved him to come back if he had a problem, because he kept making gestures.
So, back he came, rolled down the window. Chicken.
I asked him what his problem is.
He looked and sounded like an Arab, but I’m not sure.
He made a gesture like cutting a throat and told me that in Spain they eat dogs like King. They are not good. They kill them (If they are not good, why do they eat them?)
I told him that that’s fine, but why is he so rude to me, we are not in Spain?!
He again told me that Labradors are not good, the small one’s fine.
He didn’t understand the word rude either.
I just told him to fuck off and better be sure not to cross my path again. Nor my husbands.
I told him the story later and he was mad as hell.
So am I. I’m still shaking.
What is wrong with some people? I’m just nice. The dogs are nice. And someone just stops and tells you they should be dead?!
Oh, I remember both of these faces. You better not cross me again. You have not seen a mad German going wild yet. Nor do you want to.
Assholes.
Sorry for the ran. If you quit the readership now, I understand.
But that’s just me.
I can be mean. Very.
You know, after all these countries we have been to with King, I thought I had seen it all, heard it all.
People wanting to buy King for the meat market in Korea.
People poisoning dogs in Germany.
But this tops it all.
*Goes to copy/paste some old blog posts, maybe that calms me down again….*
All is wonky
By NicoleB on Jan 31, 2008 | In *Life - Leben | 3 feedbacks »

Wonky1 - since yesterday morning my Internet is acting up big time.
During the afternoon and evening I had none.
I tried to reinstall my air-card, helped last time (My Internet shows up as connected, but my browser is on strike).
Hubby’s didn’t work last night either, which eased my pain a bit
In the news last night we then heard that a deep-sea cable got severed in India.
I take a wild guess that that is affecting us a bit?
I don’t know.
Update: After reading the article, it did / does affect us and it was two cables.
And just in case you don’t understand why this irritates me a bit with the combination of melting ice at the North Pole, you might want to read Frank Schaetzing. Up to a few months ago his books were only available in German, but the one I’m talking about is available in English now as well
It’s worth it. It paints a very near and very possible and very scary future.

(I’m not sure you can get it via Amazon though)
I just squeeze in this post, or try to and if you don’t hear much from me in the next few days, you know why
Wonky 2 - I seem to be getting sick. Once again.
I swear, I have not been sick that often since being a teenager.
It started with a sore throat in the early morning.
After meeting the Kuwaiti Lady and having a great walk and chat with her, I came home, tried my Internet in vain and went straight to bed.
Fot 4 hours!
Waking up, my sore throat got slightly worse and I knew that I’m coming down with what we call “Angina” in German.
Hubby doesn’t know that term, so I guess you guys call it something different.
Cleaned the house & went to the Pharmacy.
Did you know that the Pharmacists seem to be better Doctors sometimes?
Anyhow, I explained to him what ails me and he gave me the right stuff (Angina-something and some of those soothing tablets).
It seems to be getting better already, but that might be a trick only.
I know fro my teenage years (I had that once a year), that it usually knocks me out with no appetite and a very sore throat,
plus all kinds of other stomach issues which I don’t want to describe in detail
Let’s hope that will not be the case this time.
After all the weather is nice and I finally wanted to get out a bit in the next few days.
We shall see.
Update2: My google reader is out of whack (so are my google ads).
Seems the google server got a little hit as well with those severed cables.
Email and everything else works, but no reader for me, imho, I gotta manually snailcheck your blogs, which means, it will take forever. Sigh……!
