Photography assignments
I have an idea hopping around in my head since a few weeks.
Many of you out there love Photography.
So do I.
Many of you say “Yeah, but I want to / need to get better / do more".
So do I.
Now, my plan is to do every few weeks a new assignment.
Like collecting all kinds of information on a certain Photography subject and do a shooting
session on it.
Spread some linklove on this and give each other feedback.
Anyone interested to join?
If so let’s make this post a brain storming for ideas for assignments.
Some quick ones that pop in my mind:
- Macro - July 2008
- Landscapes / Sceneries
- Lighting
- Portraits
- Animal portraits / shots
- Long exposure
- HDR
- Portraiture Outdoors
Ideas? Suggestions?
First assignment - Outdoor portraiture - Start March 28th / End April 11th
Note: Even if the assignment is over - you can still check out the links and information and work on it if you like the theme.
Leave a comment with the link and I will check it out

Good subjects.
I've been willing myself to do some macro photography. Currently limited by my lens collection which are not designed for macro work (Your p&s should be great for macro work though).
To do good macro work, try to build yourself a lightbox. It's a good exercise in controlling light as well.

Or if you go to the City (opposite Muthana complex, and in line with Jashanmal stores), there are 2 photo shops that sell foldable light boxes.

I love the idea - but it's always the execution for me that's the problem, well it's the time...I have none and then when I think I might have some, I'm usually watching all the kids and packaging them up is a pain...
But you keep posting the weekly theme and I'll try to get one...lol

Sounds like a good plan. I'll play.

I like the idea.
Some friends of mine and I have started doing a monthly photography challenge, where you have a list of things to shoot, and you go out and be creative. I'm happy to share it with anyone else who is interested!

I'm a point-and-shoot girl, myself, but I'll be happy to see what other people come up with.

This is a great idea, I may sit this first one out, I'm thinking, but I can see myself jumping in and playing too.

Damn.. Let me see what I can do! As you know I'm doing an internship so I don't have that much time! But I'll try to fix something!

Am I invited? I need some tips anyway

Thanks, Cajie, which part of "the City" - you know that you have to give the taxi drivers a detailed point to got to

Great, Barbara - am looking forward to it!
@Annie - like a Scavenger Hunt?
Did that a while back.
That's fun too
@ Miss SR - that's the "point" - you an still be a P&S girl, but get even on that some tips.
Learning by doing is Best
Go ahead, Lisa, whatever suits you
@Bio - drag your colleagues outside and "shoot" them
Yes, sure you are, Linus
