I love that the Great Cormorants have all posed just so for you, on the branch. I have a rubber stamp very similar to this. But my favourite is the Red Backed Shrike - lovely depth of field. How on earth do you know all their names?!!!

Thanks, Janice.
Those were the first Cormorants I have seen here in Hungary.
I didn't even know they are here.
They must have been breeding at that lake, because there were at least 15 flying around there (another training school ;) )

The shrike is my favorite too.
I found him when I was tagging along off trail. He was just sitting on that fence and looking at me and the dogs like we were some crazy fools stomping around in the undergrowth (which we were).

I get most of the names out of a nature guide and some bird ID from www.surfbirds.com
Great, helpful people there :)

Gut erwischt, was bei Vögeln ja nie so einfach ist. Ganz toll die Kormorane; wie fotogen sie da zu dritt sitzen!

@Marju - Thanks, so do I :)

@Gemma - I saw my first one last year here in Hungary. Fascinating birdies :)

What a delightful collection you present. The cormorants posed for a great shot; love the silhouettes.
And the little shrike looks like such a sweet and pretty bird, the kind my daughter would remark: "look at the birdie!"

Great shots! I love cormorants - they are some of the coolest birds ever and get extra points for style! :-) I didn't know you have them there - I thought just us and China...

You and Bazza and I all got Cormorants at the same time. How weird is that?!

Your other two birds I have seen only in pictures. I need to win a lottery or something so I can afford to come visit. (I don't buy tickets so don't hold your breath!)
