Birnen einmachen

Fertig.

How to preserve pears?

It’s actually not that hard.
I checked the net for various ideas and made something up with the ingredients I had in my kitchen.

I had about 2.5 kg of Mini pears. You clean them and cut them in halves. With the small ones you can let the stones be, with big ones you need to cut that part away.

I used about 1.5 L of Water in a huge pot, added 1 kg of sugar and 5 big spoon fulls of honey, heat the whole thing on the stove until the sugar is melted.

Added some laurel leaves, half a pack of black pepper seeds, about 100ml vinegar and 300ml apple vinegar.

Add the pears, let it cook for 30-45 minutes. When the pears are soft, but not mushy, fill them in clean glasses with a lid and make sure the liquid covers the fruit.

Store it in a cool, dark area.

It tastes a bit sweet, but not overwhelming.

Done.
