Blazing, but oh boy I love it

Weather Sharm el Sheikh October 14th

It’s supposed to be a blistering 40 Celsius out there regarding the forecast and I do believe it.
It’s hazy too and a bit humid. I guess tomorrow was the day with no humidity, sigh ;)
You can barely see the mountains. An indicator to humidity.

But I do sound a bit like I’m bitching, right?
No, I’m not.
Weather reports from the home front in Germany and Norway indicate that the weather there sucks.
So, why should I whine about a bit of heat?

At least there’s no dust storms here. The mountains and the ocean see to that.

You are wondering what else I love about Egypt so far?

Well, the prices are actually pretty decent. I was surprised.

The quality of things, well, expect for the meat, is pretty good too.
(I guess one day we will find a decent butcher shop)

I love that they deliver close to everything here.
Especially my groceries.

Yes. They do.
You can either go to the shop, shop yourself and have them deliver.
Or you simply call them.

I tried it with a short order last week and with a longer one yesterday.
The guy at Metro spoke decent English, was helpful, even called me back once to verify two things.
An hour later my stuff was here at my door step.
The delivery guy last week even came back to the house and wanted to give me 3 LE back, since I double paid the delivery charge (which is 4 LE, less than 50 Eurocents or 73US cents).

You get fancy things too sometimes, since I didn’t choose the “flavor” it myself I got a surprise soap bar that I can shake up. Aha. :>> Wonder what will happen if I do ;)
(Then again, maybe I am the only one that thinks this is hilarious…)

What else do I love?

The nature. Even though there isn’t much else than sand and dirt, there’s still such a vibrant wildlife.
I can sit on our terrace, being watched calmly by one or two lizards on the other Couch, while a falcon lands in front of the house on a palm tree, buzzards are circling above and a Heron stalks his prey in the yard.

Yepp, I love it :)

Bild siehe oben ;)

Schon schoen :)!

Also doch schwül ... na ja.

I wonder what happened if you shake that soap up? lol.
Nicole, your living area looks like a safari, so many wild animals roams freely. I will be busy taking pictures whole day if I were you :)

Mint and chilled cucumber soap would definitely cool you down. Try shaking it like marakkers when you're in the shower singing Copa Cabana, and perhaps you'll be transported to Rio de Janeiro?

Sounds like you are really enjoying it there. Is it more or less expensive? Do you have to pay more for the groceries if they deliver them? Is it always cloudy or smoggy there? A lot of the photos that you are posting seem like it is to me. The sky never looks clear blue. Maybe it's just my old eyes LOL

@Vanilla - I sometimes have to give the wildlife a break ;)
Plus,it's still way too hot to shoot all day :>>

@Kristi - Hopefully at least another year :)

@Janice - Cool idea ;) But I'm not sure if I actually would want to go to Rio :))

@Thom - more or less expensive than where? (Kuwait or Hungary or Germany?) ;)
Nope, groceries are the same price as in the shop. You juts have to pay around 0.70 US cents for the delivery.
Cloudy and smoggy? Nope, not at all. Blue skies all day long. Just along the mountains you see some clouds every once in a while and when it's humid you see the haze around them.
Many photos probably look a bit hazy since the sun's so bright. OR it's because I shot the mountains and it IS hazy ;)
Go back to the beach pictures, there's your clear blue sky B)

@Quilly - yepp ;)

@Doug - from your lizards? |-|
