Bullet holes

Looks like bullet holes in that sign to me.
All around in the walls were some too.
I really wonder what on earth happened there.
I can think of the wildest stories.

This is another shot from the old abandoned country estate. Yet more to come.

Fire Hazard. Do not use open flame. Smoking is not allowed.

I guess the answer to your question would depend a lot on how long those holes have been there. They could be WWII vintage even. Although, you'd think the rust would have put paid to the sign in that amount of time if that were the case.

Great photo however long ago the place got perforated!
