Drava Strandbad in Barcs
When we came back from that Short hop to Croatia last week and crossed the border we saw a nice spot down at the Drava and thought “that might be a neat place for fishing".
So we went down there and tried to find our way through that little outskirts of Barcs and found ourselves all of a sudden at the doorsteps of the Drava Strandbad.

Follow up:
It seems to be made for Eco tourism, at least that’s what the big sign says.

Almost nobody there though. And it was a holiday in Hungary, so people should have been there, no? I didn’t take a picture of the green grass to show that nobody was there, but here’s a view across the river. That’s the Hungarian / Croatian border right there.

The cafe looks unfinished. And the whole site not too welcoming at all. Plus, there are no advertisements or signs in Barcs or anywhere else. Strange. It was open though.

An interesting thing is, they offer canoe tours. Would like to do that one day, but only when the Drava is low on water, not with the current it had that day, no thanks ![]()

Maybe you could offer a postcard service to some of these areas you are visiting?

The building would be nice if they had finished it, I guess.....
Go for a ride with me, Lisa?
Uncrowded it was for sure, Cath

The idea with the postcards isn't a bad one, fact is though that things here still work a bit like in DDR times. I did a shooting with a local mayor two years ago, he ordered postcards from the shots, paid for them an never got them - the company went bankrupted.
But I will get my lazy butt up and give it a try with the bigger cities. I'll have enough time in autumn I guess.
