Early Sunday morning

Well, not really that early.
It was already after 6 when we went for a short walk this morning.
We took our “old” path along the Thermal pool area and as usual we saw a bunch of wildlife.

(Bear with me with the quality of pics and the odd framing. ;) Click for big)

Starting with two does quite a bit away in the fields

red deer, rothirsch

A bunch of birds and a flock of female pheasants which almost got caught by King.
The male decided to stay hidden and wait until I pass him to scare the living daylights out of me.
Hasn’t happened to me in a while.

male pheasant, fasan

A red fox in the fields. Saw me and ran.

red fox, rotfuchs

Saw some pretty thistles (Thanks to Amoeba, I now know, these are not thistles. Correct answer is: teasel (Dipsacus sp.))

distel, thistle

JoJo ran like crazy and tried different paths, up and down over and under bushes. She had a real blast.

dachshund pointing

Some fruits which are ripe and taste good. But I have no clue what they are ;)

yellow fruit

purple fruit

A sad sight as usual.
A few hundred kilometers away forests are burning, all is dry over here and these morons burn trash (mainly grass and tress and whatever comes out of the gardens, but also often some normal trash).

trash burning in hungary, muellverbrennung in ungarn

King tried to catch a dove, after he was unsuccessful with the pheasants, but that didn’t work either ;)

labrador and dove

And my feet halfway through the 2.5km small walk ;)

my feet

Over at my “Mother Nature” blog you can find now a map and can see some of the parks and cities I have visited.
I still need to do quite some updating, but here’s a first glance:

I really like the first photo of the deer limned by the early morning light!

And, I've been meaning to ask, do you have to bathe the dogs after each of these walks?!

And nope, I do not have to bath them every time. Sometimes I hose them down though :)

All these shots are terrific. They really give us a good idea of what you saw on your early morning walk. Early morning light is the best, especially if it's not too cloudy! What a pretty place you have to explore...

PS As for the way the way the shots are 'framed'...I like the idea, but I think it would be more dramatic if the area outside the circumscribed shot was black instead of white. For me, it would seem like the viewer was peeking through some hole at life outside.

Nice shots.

The "thistles" are actually teasel (Dipsacus sp.), a similar-looking but actually quite different sort of plant.

The fruits look like wild plums, especially the bottom one.

That a lot of wildlife for one walk. You are very lucky. How far out of the city are you? And, who got to wash the little dog??

Thanks, everyone :)

@Sandy - thanks :)
I saw even more today :)
Our city here is just a small town, hard to guess, but less than 700 people There's only one bigger town "nearby", that's about 20km.
Our dogs are self-cleaning.
If they are very filthy they get hosed of in the garden. Pretty easy :)
