Engrish lesson part 5 - Beauty lies in the eye of the beholder
Time to revive the engrish lessons for you all
A beautiful sign in Kuwait *snicker*….

Disclaimer: I neither claim to be perfect in English, nor am I bashing the countries I point out in these posts. I simply love these little mistakes.
I am very grateful for any sign in any of these countries, that’s written in a language I can understand.
But hey, we all need to smile from time to time, no?

I think there is a webpage out there that collects these type of signs - many of the ones on that site are from Asia, but I look looking at them!
It's funny though - Arabic (specifically) is phonetic and so it's hard to translate spellings in English (although in these cases, they should get a dictionary). But, my husband has about 4 'accepted' ways to spell his first name in English and on their passports - his family has different spellings of their last name! I find that amazing... I mean, if his brother was detained, how could we prove that we are related if the last name is different?

@Robin, yepp I found a few of those too

"Gordon Blue" was a good one or "Cook with child"

@Little P - yepp, there's a Site somewhere. Had the link once, but lost it.
I think, there's a group on flickr too.
Yes, Asia has a lot of hilarious ones (see my reply to Robin, they are both from Korea), but Hungary isn't far behind and Kuwait had great ones, since the translating was mainly done by Indians it seemed

I didn't know about the spelling in names. There are so many amazing things in Middle Eastern customs. I will never even be able to start to understand their system *chuckle*
