F****** great <- Forget it!

After the complete reboot of my Ext. HD with a still running update of Picasa my pictures are back.
Sigh of relief!

It was not so much the pictures of our breakfast at the Hilton or the shots of me in my new High Heels that hubby took.

But we had a - uh - scary exiting experience last night after we went to bed.
More about that later today.

My camera / Computer just garbled the pictures I took yesterday. They are not readable. And as usual I clicked download and delete from camera after finished. I’m pissed. This turns out not to be my day and it’s only 5.22 a.m. >:XX After I tried to restart my Picasa to see if that maybe would help. all my pictures had been gone at restart. Restarting the whole computer leads to Picasa having to reorganize all 40.000 something pictures. Don’t ask me why it did that. I don’t like that - at all.

Whew! So glad you were able to get them back.....I would have cried.

Can't wait to hear about the experience.

I'm also curious about the experience...
I'm glad that you still have your pictures, and by reading this article I realize that I have to make a backup of my documents!

This reminds me of what happened to me when I was putting together a new computer a few months ago...

I was booting up and installing Vista - when out of no where I picked the wrong partition to delete, it just so happened it was the partition that had all my photos on it (we're talking like over 100 gigs) - my jaw literally hit the floor and I just sat there...

So I installed Vista, followed a couple of things and got the entire partition back and had no troubles...man I'm glad that you don't really delete anything when you delete the partion (it just deletes the partition information, not that data)
