There’s something magical about the wee hours of the morning & walking past a beach with lit Palm trees and an empty Mall right at the ocean when nearly noone is around.
I love that time of day (night?).

Lately they renovate a lot of mosques around here.
Ours here in Mangaf finally gets done too.
This one is in Fahaheel.
As far as I have learned mosques are sponsored by private people (and named after them?).
I’m not sure who pays for the upkeep though.
Some little add on here, found by Miss Intlxpatr.
Did you know that you actually can tell a difference in some cases between a Sunni and a Shiite mosque?

Miss A. took me to Ahmadi today.
A “village” a bit outside the main areas, near the oil companies.
Built by the oil companies in the 50ties (?) to house the Expat workers, it reminds still a bit of a British Colony. Nice, houses and lots of parks, green & trees and a whole lot of roundabouts ![]()
A nice, quiet area.
