First Photography Assignment - Outdoor Portraiture

People here in Kuwait love to pose.
Yes, even Kuwaitis.
I would love to capture them unposed and sometimes I’m lucky.
But hey, I take all the shots I can get.
It’s fun for them and fun for me.
Usually I was very shy in asking people if I can take a picture of them.
I lost many ops for a quick snap.
How about you?
Are you on the shy side or are you bold and ask?
Photography Assignment for the next two weeks: - Outdoor Portraiture
- Collect Information online about Portraiture outdoors (posed and quick snap)
- Take every opportunity you can get to shoot people (strangers or people you know) - that will help you overcome any shyness
- Look at the pictures and select some you want to show off - you can edit them in an editing program, no problem
- Post also the links that you found with the information about outside portraiture - you can post in between the two weeks period to share links, just post a comment here with the link to spread the word and so posts don’t get lost
- At the end of the two weeks I want you to look back, compare your shots and see if you can see a difference - this works maybe Best when you post some of your shots in between and get feedback from the Rest of us, ideas welcome
- Let’s not forget to visit each other and leave feedback, suggestions to make things better are welcome - but remember: Play fair!

Ideas for new themes are still welcome - Check it here

Very nice! I'm one of the ones who are too chicken to ask. I may try to take some if I manage to get into Chinatown this weekend! If you chicken out, start with your neighbours
Nice! I am shy about asking people if I can take their photo but I think that stems from the fact I don't like my photo taken.
I'm the shy one! Don't like my pictures with someone I don't know or trust :/
That's my biggest hangup - having to get something signed...then I'd actually have to talk to them...lol
But I love the fish one...
As far as Jonathn's concern in the US, according to a recent publication by a US attorney, he may not need to be so worried.
Here is the link to the Photographer's Rights that he posted. It's interesting reading for all photographers, esp. from US.

You can still take candid shots like from far away or from the back
Example (sorry - finding them on zazzle is the quickest way - I don't want you to buy them

I'm not too keen of my own pictures either.
I tried to do a project last year to cure me from that.
365 days - Selfportraits.
Even body parts and shadow pics did count.
I think I made it to 260 days
Valid point, Jonathan.
But we are most likely not going to sell them, so we should be safe, no?

Thanks, for the link, Barbara
And hey, that's why we do this, no?
This looks like a good place to read up on it - Model Release
Almost, but I'm just so short of time at the moment. I'll be watching your efforts though!
@A.
Just take your camera with you and ready, you might be surprised how many snaps you can get in.
And you can learn from those as well
I'm sure they will work well on a Stock Market Site if you try.
Now, the thingy still runs almost another two weeks.
I'm sure you get some neighbors to work or strangers
