So, that's a corn flower! I know the name from the crayon box (smile), but I've never seen one. Great shots. :-)

Thanks, 2sweetnsaxy
I think the name makes no sense in English, because the flower doesn't grow in corn fields. It grows in wheat fields and that's what it means in German "wheat flower"
I haven't seen them in Germany for years, but here they are quite in abundance

Nice wild flowers !That yellow could be Field Mustard but I'm not sure. But I have seen that flower here by the fields too. Summer makes everything bloom. there is so many wild flowers now although it has been cold yet
2009-06-08 @ 08:53
Thanks, Nukke, but nope, Field mustard is what we call "Raps" / "Rape field".
The blossoms are different too.

Very unusual looking flowers. The bottom one looks like a wild flower to me!

Thanks, Anne Fannie.
Just found out with some help what the bottom one is
They are both pretty common here in Europe

Wolfsmilchgewächse gibts hier noch genug, die Kornblumen aber werden immer seltener, dabei sind sie echt schön.

Nicole, I didn't realize that my website would be displayed. I see it now. I'm so sorry, but can you delete the above post? I've had problems with spam, and I don't want to have to enable comment moderation.
In the mean time, this is a lovely post, and I love the blue flower the best. Lovely photographs!
Thanks for your help.
Happy Blue Monday...
Sheila :-)

The cornflower is one of my favorite... so delicate and the little petals are small flowers in themselves. Lovely.
