Flutterbies and more

Two butterflies from yesterday’s walk. Silver washed fritillary, Kaisermantel, Argynnis paphia

Silver washed fritillary, Kaisermantel, Argynnis paphia

No idea what this one is, do you?

butterfly

Did I mention that it is a pain in the behind to try to shoot macros when it’s 30Celsius out there, bending down, getting eaten by mosquitoes?
;)

I have a Bandana fixed on my CamelPak (a water “container"), with which I grab the cam so I don’t get it all sweaty.
Summer is nice, but…. :>>

We spooked some ducks as well

Why can I never get butterflies to be still? I run all over hell and God's half-acre trying to capture a fluttering butterfly and everybody else on the net gets the damn things to pose. HOW!?

Very nice shots. Do you have a macro lens? I was thinking you might try that and shoot some cool shots of mosquitoes on your skin! : )

Love this series of life in the wild! I did manage to capture one butterfly shot during a walk by the beach! Just one! And I wasn't trying! Maybe trying too hard is one way not to photograph them!

Very productive walk, Nicole. Great shot of the silver washed fritillary. Time for Lucy and I to take our walk soon - dodging the raindrops as we go. At least we don't have lots of mosquitos...
