Yesterday something reminded me of my first time.
No, not what you think.
The first time I used a Computer and the first time I started using emails.
My first Computer experiences where on my Job. Training in the Hotel, about 17 years ago. And still another 7 years until I first heard of Internet and used it. Mainly for emails that time.
Funny to think back and really think about how fast times have changed.
20 years ago there were ARD and ZDF the main TV channels in Germany, Computers where not yet in every household. 15 years ago, mobile phones just got “popular” and the Internet needed another few years to kick in. 15 years ago, you got cheap cars to start driving in after getting your drivers license. You even learned a bit about them, because there were things you could fix yourself, mainly because the garage was too expensive. I remember all my first cars. My very first was my Favorite. A blue Opel C Coupe. I loved it :). It looked pretty much like this one.

Some people do have strange ideas. Especially Americans (sorry guys).
Hubby told me Horror stories about how I have to be careful around here and that we will buy me a knife (not that I would know how to use it…), his colleagues told him not to let me out by myself (huh?) and that it is too dangerous all the way around.
Yes, you gotta be careful, but hey, give me a break. It’s not like this country is full of rapists only. I make a bet that there are as many perverts in Germany as there are over here.
Yes, you have to be careful with what you are wearing when you are out alone. The slightest bit of tightness in your Shirt or a bit of cleavage and weird / happy looks are guaranteed. But that’s the same in any country.

Then the work and getting bored thing. People just don’t seem to get the idea, that you can have a happy Life by just being a housewife. Taking care of my husband and my dogs, having my hobbies (photos, flickr, books and flickr…uh….oups…. ;)) really DOES fill my day.
Let’s just count it:
Making breakfast - 1/2 hour
Taking the dogs - 2 1/2 hours
Cook dinner and Lunch - 1 1/2 hours
doing dishes - 1/2 hour
clean the house - 1/2 hour (thanks, doggies ;)
laundry / ironing - 1/2 hour
————————————-
Total 6 hours

Leaving 6 - 7 hours to myself.
Why would I need a job?
