Glimpses (2)

For some reason I haven’t found my routine yet, the blogging routine that is.
Guess it will take a bit longer to settle all in.

The last two days I spent my mornings with walking and exploring.
I am getting a sense for where stuff is and in which directions I have to go.

And I gotta admit that google maps helped me a great deal with that.
I simply love it :)

I am slowly adding details to my own map and I’ll add the pictures I take as well, so you can, if you like, see where all that stuff is that I’m talking about :)

Jedenfalls was das bloggen angeht. Dauert wohl diesmal alles etwas laenger.

What a great picture. I was amazed at the mountains for some reason. I just think Egypt...flat. Stupid I know. I also learned something. I didn't know you could add your pictures to google maps. I just use flickr and add them there. I guess the same thing? Nicole also...how do you get the emoticons to work in the comment? I've tried everything I can think of. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. It looks like eastern California. Are you sure the pilot didn't get confused? Nobody's perfect.

Here's how to tell: If all the people around you are speaking a language other than English, it's California.

Hi Nicole, Taking time to just walk and get your bearings is all part of settling in. Looking forward to seeing some of what you find.

BLOGitse - I was more than happy that we did not have to go to Cairo.
I'm not one for huge cities.
Even if it means that sightseeing and seeing the pyramids will be a bit of a challenge, but we will manage it somehow :)

Dan - neither did I until hubby told me :>>

Thom - don't feel bad. I didn't know either until hubby sent me some pics :)

Google maps and pictures.
Well, you need to start an account on Panoramio and add your pics there.
With some luck your pics get chosen. Not all pics end up on GM and it takes a little while as well.
Not sure how it works with flickr?
Do you mean GM there or just the geotags?

Smilies: Just click on whichever you want to choose. It will go right into your comment :DD That's the whole trick ;)

Doug - must be Egypt then. Too many people speak English here

Kvelli - wohne jetzt hier fuer keine Ahnung wie lange

Janice - will post some later.
That's the only real downturn of shooting RAW. You have to edit all pics, if you want or not ;)

Thanks for the info. About the emotions...they are the one's that we have available when we make a comment here on your post. There are a whole bunch of them and I can't figure out how to get them in my comment when I live it. See how you left the one waving to Kvelli? That's what I'm talking about. Again, thanks for the other info my friend :)

Thom, try to just click on one.
It automatically shows up in your comment after you click on it.
You don't see it as a smiley you just see it as symbols.
But when you post your comment it will show as a smiley ;)

Lots of new to explore. We'll be here when you get back to us!

Did you notice I put up 30 photos in one posts and 6 in another (although I only took 4 of the 6)?

For some reason this reminds me of War of the Worlds - little tiny spaceships hovering. :) Seems like there's a lot.
The mountains in the background are awesome.
