Actually, photographing around this area is also a bit of a risk.
There's the Emir's Palace right next door, the Central bank on the left (with big signs saying no photography), and if you cross the traffic signal, all the banks/stock exchange are located and those guards there will harass anyone toting a camera.

Inside you can, as long as you speak to the guards first & it's not prayer time.
