Dr Future

I finally went to the GYN today to get my IUD removed.
About time. 5 years are passed since a bit.

I once again didn’t find the entrance to this Dr. He works in the hospital most of the time, that’s why I chose him. Normal GYNs don’t have that much experience with IUD and sometimes refuse to do them. Especially when the woman didn’t have a Baby yet.

I all but gave up & went to a Drug store for some small stuff and was on my way back to the car, when I met a friend of ours, Kinga. She showed me the way, Dr. was there and I could go right in. He speaks some decent English & I am pleasantly surprised.
No nurses around, which suited me well enough. It seemed except for Kinga and me every woman in town was in a grumpy mood anyway.
After we got the first paperwork stuff scrambled away, he asked me for the last period, I asked him for a calendar. Hence the blog title. That good man already lives in October ;)
We figured everything out well enough though.
I suspected that he wouldn’t put the new IUD in the day the old one is removed, that’s why I waited until hubby is out of town. I didn’t know that I have to wait 3 months though. Tough shit.

We went to work. Soon enough he proved to me that most military GYNs are not worth the money paid for (another story, already told on another blog, long ago, maybe worth repeating one day). In Korea in the GYN figured that my cord is gone (there’s a tiny cord on that tiny IUD) and we (she) thought, it got lost (so did my German GYN, which I called same day).
Fact is that the whole crappy thing turned & this poor man today had some slight troubles to get it out. It wasn’t too painful, not more than I expected anyway, but I sort of bled like a beheaded rat and that’s how I sort of felt on my way home.
Poor guy, he wished we had been in the hospital I guess. This was the first time he had to take one like that out.
Don’t you feel great when shit like that happens to YOU. Like, is there no one else on the planet? Why must Murphy have been there before me?

OK, no need to fret. He did a decent enough job, I paid only approx $40 for the whole fun and the new one will cost me around $80. I think in Germany it’s around $350.
Can’t bitch.

On a funny note. Not so gunny at that moment though.
I went in a local shoe store, found a pair of comfy looking shoes, cheap enough for walking to the store and back and wanted to try them on.
I had sandals on, no socks.
Asked the Lady. Lady says “No - not without socks". Ok….?! I figure by her look that she obviously doesn’t have the usual test socks either.
What did they do in summer? Did the Ladys bring their own socks in their handbags?

Proud

I am proud of myself.
Have been for a short run & need to thank noisy_nisroc for the motivation yesterday :)!
I guess without hubby’s early sms & a noisy “clacking” bird (Floyd calls him the pervert bird) I would maybe still be asleep.
Need to make an appointment at the GYN today, Checkup and new IUD. We shall see how this little adventure will turn out :)
