Green Island is an artificial Island at the coast of Kuwait City.
It covers an area of 785.000 sqm and is 3140 meters wide and was inaugurated on February 22nd 1988.
It offers different entertainment facilities like a 700 seat amphitheater, an exotic Restaurant (?) a Swimming Pool and a big Playground for kids with a big kids’ castle.
There is a 35 meter high tourist tower as well which offers a great view over Kuwait.
An entrance fee is to be paid to get on the Island - it is either 250 Fils or 1 KD (not sure which source is correct.)
There is no Photography allowed on the Island (which I don’t understand and which stopped me from going there).

The 134m long passageway (which I personally expected to be a bit grander)

The stones that surround the island were imported from the UAE

The biggest aquarium of the Middle East is located in the Scientific Center in Kuwait.
It is located at the waterfront at Ras Al-Ardh in the Salmiya area.
It contains a variety of attractions: a Dhow harbor, the Aquarium with various animals and a small area with wild animals that are at home in Kuwait, a 250 seat IMAX Theater, the 1400 sqm Discovery place with educational games and experiments, a neat Gift Shop, a one kilometer long path along the coast with two 70 meter long fishing piers (with seating, shade and beacons)and direct access to the sea.
The Complex covers an area of 80.000 square meters, 18.000 are dedicated to the Center itself.
With big sails serving as a roof, the building reminds of Kuwait’s sea heritage.
The Dhow harbor contains the only surviving Kuwaiti sailing ship from the pre-oil era and five smaller dhows. The largest ship is named “Fateh El-Kheir", translated into the “advent of all good". It once was a cargo ship. The smaller ones have been used for pearl diving and fishing.
