Is it true about Adsense ?

by NicoleB Email

The guys at Shoemoney wrote a post today about Adsense dropping everyone from their list of users which are

NOT in North America, Latin America or Japan

Now, are they only gonna retire the referral program or the whole adsense program for those countries outside the perimeter?
Does anyone know anything?

Update
Link to the Adsense Blog

But first let me clarify that only referral units promoting AdSense will be affected by this change; referrals to other products and services remain unaffected at this time.

“AT THIS TIME”

Thanks a lot.
Means your ads will take up space on my blog, I might make a few bucks and before I reach a Payout goal you’ll change your mind again and kick me out of your system?
NICE

OK, who has alternatives to adsense that make some bucks??
I mean really.

They are not retiring the *whole* Adsense program, just the referrals that link directly to adsense. That is, you won't be able to create a referral that says "Earn money from your website - sign up for Google Adsense" or something similar anymore. You'll still be able to run all your normal ads, and referrals for other products, just no referrals that direct people to Adsense.

Hope that helps!

David

Just as David said, but in case you are interested in other options, you can try widgetbucks, they are more like Adsense

Not sure because I haven't tried anything to monetize my blog though. Although, I've seen a lot of people blogging about certain ads... Don't know if this is too interesting though.

Thanks, David & Joel.

@Kala
Well, I'm not loosing antything by trying.
And if it pays for the hosting at the end of the year, it's fine with me ;)

Nicole - it sucks. I can't see them pulling the whole program though. If they do - it's will be the day I stop using them as a search engine at all.

Great photos on your blog by the way. I found you through Shoemoney.

Thanks, Catherine.
I just started using them last month and JUST started getting the hang of referrals (still using the wrong ones, I guess ;), but anyhow, it just irks me when people change something like that.
If they start playing hardball on users like the ones coming from Germany, they can kiss my behind, that's for sure ;)

*Off to see your blog ;)*
