Let me show you a bit of Nagyatad

Sorry for the quality of the shots - it wasn’t exactly my day, nor did I have much time.
We have just hopped over quick to shop some stuff and for Floyd to get a haircut.
I used the time to snap some Quickies to show to you :)

One of the busiest corners in Nagyatad, close to the park, pool and the two shopping streets

A fountain with animal scenes right at the kiosk for newspapers and the small shopping street

Some architecture

And the other shopping street (Kossuth utca)

A statue of Mr. Kossuth

And last something you didn’t see very often any more until the gas prices started rising. At least that’s what I think is the reason.
They gave me a very odd look for taking a picture of them, but hey, I’m a tourist ;)

I was scared to look at the photos when I read '. . . snap some Quickies. . .' but whew, they were all delightful! That looks like a beautiful area to have some time to play in!

Lajos Kossuth was once the leader of Hungary - lead the country in its war against Austria. Fled Hungary when Russia joined the war.(1849?) Imprisoned in turkey until 1851. Emigrated to the US and founded the town of New Buda in the state of Iowa. There is a county in Iowa, Kossuth County, in which New Buda lies.

I was going to ask where Nagyatad was, but as Mr. Kossuth was Hungarian, I'm going to presume it is in Hungary. For more on Mr. Kossuth, here's his Wikipedia page link:
