This little Beauty was giving me a flight show last Friday on the Golf course.

It took me a while to find him in my books and my gallery.
But I knew I had seen him (and IDed him) before.

It amazes me, how far I did come in identifying birds.
I would have never guessed that I would be able to find bird IDs myself one day.
But I am getting there.

Here are two more shots of the Whiskered tern in my archives from the day I visited the Small Pools.

Nichole: What a neat gull in flight and in the unusual position. It must have spotted a bite to eat.

Nice catch Nicole.. You really are becoming quite the birder. Seeing them and looking them up is the best way to go. I love the sea and diving type birds. They are a lot of fun to watch when they hunt for food...

When we were at the beach several weeks ago I received great enjoyment while watching the birds swoop, dive, and recover with a mouthful of fish. It was really awesome to watch their skillful hunting.
