Nazis 'sowed seeds of anti-Semitic hatred in Arab world'

by NicoleB Email

That’s what I just had in my feedreader from AKI.
Now, my history lessons weren’t that great, but I do sort of doubt this….

The World War II Nazis spread their anti-Semitic hatred of the Jewish race to Arab states, a legacy that al-Qaeda (photo) has fed off, the German historian Matthew Kuntzel, argues in his book ‘Jihad and Jew-hatred’.

Read the first part on AKI

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden’s attacks against western countries, first announced in 1998, have continually found inspiration from anti-Semitism, Kuntzel argues.

Bin Laden equates the West/America with “the Jews” and takes it as axiomatic that “the Jews are out to dominate the world,” Kuntzel claims.

Read part two on AKI

I do know that quite a few Muslims from various countries liked Hitler and his ideas a lot. A few told me so.
“Oh, you’re German? Hitler great man!”

Further down in Part two it says:

The Jews had fought a war against Muslims for 14 centuries that continued to the present day, “helped by Christians and idolatry", according to Qutb.

I guess Nazis were really needed after 14 centuries of hatred to sow the seed….am I missing something???

Don’t get me wrong, I’m just getting tired of hearing the same old Nazi shit since I got into school.

They never did let us be proud of being Germans, I never did feel proud until I grew a bit older and grew very tired of endless complaints of people regarding the war.
I wasn’t even born. All I can do is try to avoid another mess like that.
And everyone else should better watch out that it doesn’t happen in their own country.

Don’t be afraid to leave me your honest opinion about this, I’m always eager to learn, but please don’t try to make me feel guilty for something that happened 80 years ago.

Hitler was evil! I'm not a big fan of his, but the way that he concord Europe in what 10 years or less is amazing!
what he did is stupid and very selfish. I hope we don't another one like him or G.W. Bush. Because they are a pair of shoes.

Quite frankly - I AM DAMN PROUD TO BE GERMAN AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE'S GOT TO SAY ABOUT IT!

That's my honest opinion.

It's only an excuse...

I'm proud to be American, just not of it's representatives!

I am proud to be an American of German descent. Hitler, if I am not badly mistaken, was an Austrian, not strictly a German. On the other hand, are Austrians German? I don't know.

Don't get me wrong.

I am NOW proud to be a German.

It is just that in school they (during my time) did make you feel a different way.
Reactions of people, like when going to the US were different.
Some of the older generation tried to get you by saying stuff like "why did you start the war". But the friend I visited over there prepared me for that and my reply was "why did you send back ships with Jews".

Yes, Hitler was Austrian, and no, now Austria dos not belong to Germany no more, nor are Austrians Germans.
During the pre war days, different story.
But I couldn't yet find a def. answer to that question.

But what about the point that Kuntzel makes here.
Did the Nazis sow the seed?

People fail to realize that all of the Christian world in the 1930's (and for centuries before) was anti-semitic - and still is though it's more subtle now (like racism). Hitler didn't have to convince people of a new hatred; he just made it the main hatred.

The German people are not more vulnerable to these thoughts than other people; they just happen to get Hitler amidst an economic crisis brought on by the aftermath of WWI. I often wonder if I would have the sense to protest in a similar situation. I doubt it. Most of us trust our leaders.

Yes, we need to make sure it doesn't happen again. It is always happening again, whenever you think in terms of "them" vs. "us", no matter who "they" are.

Good points, Keera.

And I don't think most people didn't go against Hitler / The Regime because they trusted them. They were dead afraid.
In the first few years they trusted and were happy, but soon they saw what happens to people who speak out.
It's like anywhere else where you can't really say what's on your mind without being afraid someone alerts the authorities about your opinions and you'll get interrogated.

Look at what was going on in Eastern Germany, look at North Korea and China and closer to me look at Saudi.
One blogger who did speak and made his name public is still in jail.

Does the world cry out?

Not really.

Yes, it happens again and again.....sadly enough....

The not speaking out until it's too late is AKA the boiling frog: Put a frog in a pot of cold water, turn up the heat, and by the time the water has become too hot for the frog too handle, it's unable to rescue itself. The change in temperature was too gradual for the frog to realize it was in danger.

I don't think I will try out that theory, Keera, but I get your point :)
