Hospital visit in Sharm el Sheikh

Sharm international hospital

Well, we had our first one last night.
Nothing emergency like.
Hubby has a nose bleed since a while and in the last few week it got worse.

Yesterday he decided to go to the hospital.
I decided to go with him.
Just in case.

Good decision, since he would have went to one of the smaller clinics in town,
which I call tourist traps.
Not sure, if they are. They are probably good.
But not what I had in mind to get the problem solved.
At least maybe.

We have a big hospital “in town” after all.
That hospital should have departments for all kinds of things.

So, we went there, filled out the forms (no big deal) and paid (240 pounds -
a bit over 40 USD and less than 30 EUR), waited for about 30 minutes
and got to see the Doc.
So far so good.

Everyone around spoke decent English. One guy showed us all the way to the Docs office.
Doc examined hubby’s nose, asked the right questions, gave us a prescription and off we went.

Honestly?
I was pretty amazed.

The hospital is still partly under construction / renovation.
But it was clean, staff was friendly and efficient.

Not that I would want to test a real emergency, but it’s most def. better
than what I would have expected.

Gut, dass es nichts Schlimmes war, aber das Gute daran: ein Test, für alle Fälle. Man weiß ja nie. Gute Besserung für F.

Nichole: You are right in that it's better to use it in a minor emergency to see what it is like. The place has a neat shape.

That's a beautiful hospital. Very unusual to my eye but I love the pyramid top. Glad to hear hubby is fine.

Seems like your hospital visit went better than my first visit to a hospital in Egypt. I'll have to blog about it soon.

Ich schließe mich den Genesungswünschen gerne an. Architektonisch jedenfalls ist das Haus sehr nett anzuschauen...

Maybe it was best to have the minor emergency first. At least you have a feel for the place in case and know it wasn't a nightmare at least.
Glad hubby is fine!

Thanks everyone.
Keep your fingers crossed.
So far the medicine seems to have helped.

And aeh, I don't plan to test the hospital on anything bigger AT ALL if I can avoid it :>>

Emergency care is always scary -- double scary when you're in a place that gives a reason to think it "backward". I hope you never have to test the facilities for anything serious.

Very interesting looking hospital. Too bad about the nose bleeds but glad you went and had it checked out. Maybe it is due to the dry air. Hope he get's better soon!
