Such things are sad to see, if you found something that could identify them I would have sent it back to them by mail. With a message "Dear Sirs, you forgot this at our lovely beach".

Btw, the Do follow plugin, once you install it and activate it it works. Or can't you activate it?

That is horrible to see; It depends on the place too-Sabah Al-Salem beach is kind of clean. Maybe municipal authorities should come up with a sign board to keep the beach clean

That bugs me, I mean if they went to the trouble of bagging the trash how much harder would it be to put in the bin.

Øyvind, nice idea :D
But they leave mainly food & garbage regarding food, behind.

The Do-Follow Plugin only works for wordpress up to now.
I tried to change it in my PHP, maybe it works now, who knows.
But I'm sure I must do more, would be too easy otherwise ;)

@Joel
It was pretty clean for the last two months.
Now the weather gets nicer and people start trashing it again :(
I have seen that Fahaheel is much cleaner now, we will see how long that one lasts....
(Authorities putting up signs and people heeding them? You are kidding, right? ;) )

@Ben
I know. It irritated me as well.
The cats (or dogs) tore the bags apart though. It just smelled too good.......
sigh....

I hate litterbugs. But when I actually see someone toss their garbage on the ground, I've never had the guts to confront them. After all, if they're anti-social enough to throw trash on the ground in public, the could be anti-social enough to get angry and physically attack me. It's not quite worth the risk.

I have seen a lot of the world over the years. And the thing I have seen that strikes me as most true is that people are the same - everywhere. The things that make people 'people' are the same - including the bits we don't really care for, like leaving litter fro someone else to take care of. But also, everywhere, are people who care. Like you.

I'm sorry Nicole for not getting it.. I took for granted that you were using Wordpress. Maybe your theme from the great N. Design tricked me. hehe

I am not into your provider, but do you have a antispam plugin? Inside there somewhere in the settings, it should (after version 1.8) be possible to disable (0) the rel=nofollow tag

If you rightclick your page and choose view source, search for nofollow. You will then see that the tags haven't been removed.

This post made me smile :) .So nice and I love the pic of ur hand throwing the thrash. It's really sickening to see people throwing all their crap every where. I think it's a statement that says "I am expecting someone else to pick it up". It is so disrespectful in my humble opinion.

god it actually reminds me of one time when we went across the saudi bridge and these Indians had made a huuuge mess on the grass and pavement with tonnes of stuff...this was their day out during eid after Ramadan and god what a mess they had made. It all puzzles me how dumb people are...(the more I see the more hope I lose)

How sad is it that they couldn't even walk a bit to put it in the skip themselves? I mean, they had enough manners to bag it. What's up with that?

@SparklingRed
I rarely ever have seen someone doing it. Over here it's pretty useless to say something anyway.
They would just think of me as another crazy environmentalist from the West.
Telling the tale by this conversation (sorry, still on my old blog):
http://rainmountain.wordpress.com/2007/06/05/storiesconversationsweirdness/
But yes, the risk of getting harmed physically when you confront a littering bully is probably not worth it.
If he's still around, you can go, pick it up and put it in a trash can. Maybe it will embarrass him a bit.

------------------

Thanks Lou, I don't care enough though. Weeks can pass by where I just close my eyes.
Sometimes it's just so overwhelming when I go outside and see the trash right in front of the house piling up everywhere.
Or how the trash guys and other collectors weed through the sealed black trash bags, open up everything, put it on the street to find some cans.
Yes, they put it back in the trash bin or in the trash truck, but a whole lot gets lost by the wind and ends up in bushes and the few trees we have here.

Here's some more beach Love (still on my old blog):
http://rainmountain.wordpress.com/2007/10/27/kuwait-trash-the-government/

Or you have the construction sites where simply everything piles up:

-------------------

@Øyvind
Not a problem.
I will keep trying to find it, or maybe I find some help in the b2 forum - I'm sure someone has mentioned it there somewhere.
Thanks!

@Sous
I know what you mean.
Mom nature already is giving us a big payback and all we do is sit there and blame her for it.
Oh well.....
Humans never will learn.
They didn't over the last few thousand years and will not in the next few thousand, if we have that long.

-------------------

@Kontan
One should think, no?
;)

-------------------

@Siobhan
There actually is no trash bin right at the beach (which is very stupid, but hell, don't criticize the government ;), but they could always take it with them and throw it away at home.

But no, they know there are "little" Indians running around at the beaches with nothing better to do than cleaning up other people's shit.

Sigh.....

Yes! Stupid.. It's a small effort to put it in a trash bin!

Like I said, there are none right by THIS beach.
They probably will never learn here....

Yes, but then can take it back the trash to home and throw it in the trash bin... ;)

New Zealand has run huge campaigns against people leaving rubbish on the beach. Nowadays anyone seen doing it is all but run off the beach along with their trash. Its great. The simplest concept, extraordinary how people cant grasp it.

Not many people give a rats ass here, Sally.
I f you take a look how run down most corners of the whole country are and how much trash you already find on the streets........
Oh well......
