Skywatching & birds

Over the last week I saw some pretty birds.

The first time ever that I saw black storks.
Hubby and I were walking when I said “Hey, there’s the couple that lives in our village".
Coming closer I realized that they looked different from underneath than storks usually do.
At home I compared, checked, checked my Kosmos nature book and decided that these are black storks :)

And here’s one of our new neighbours, Mr. Starling. He sings and poses beautifully ;)

Und hier ist unser neuester Nachbar, der Herr Star. Er singt und posiert ganz vorzueglich :)

Wow, you are really getting good at catching birds on the fly. I've never seen a black stork...in fact I don't think I've ever seen any kind of stork! Starlings? Yes! Migrating through in such large numbers they look like black clouds in the sky!

Wow, you're growing to be a bird photographer. tolle Fotos, besonders das letzte, wo der Star seine Flügel ausgebreitet hat, und noch ein paar Zweige zu sehen sind. Sehr schön.

The birds are so beautiful! Thanks for your tip on the planting thing. I've never done that and maybe that is my mistake. My first zucchini will be dedicated to you:)

Thanks all :)

Danke, Kvelli und April
Alles Glueckssache ;)

I've seen my first Starlings here, I doubt I've ever seen one in Germany, Dan :)
They are actually pretty common here it seems. Storks too :)

My neck is fine, Bi, thanks :)
Not too much staring into the sky, just snapping :)

Hope it works, Scriber :)

Nice bird shots, particularly of the mallard. The colors and details come out well.

Oh also, you are right - HDR is made from three different photographs. The technique I used is "Pseudo-HDR", which uses just one exposure. The results are not as good as true HDR, but it still works well.

Grin, Lou, that's what hubby always asks ;)

No need to be envious, Mary.
Mere luck and just snaps :)

Yepp, Jientje, Lou's an allrounder :)

WOW! Thank you so much for playing along. These shots are simply amazing! I LOVE the mallard shot. It takes a steady hand to be able to capture a bird in flight. You've done it well!
