Some call it recycling

Feeding goats with trash
Feeding goats with trash

At least these goats get to eat old bread.
Well, that day.

A while back I saw a car stop at a shop in the Old market.
He got a goat out of the car and let the goat roam in the trash.

Feeding time.

Goats will eat anything. I had one eat a hunk of my skirt while I was still in it!

The goats took over the job that the pigs used to have. Poor pigs. :(

Better for the goats to eat it, than leave it for the rats to breed and populate!!

So someone dumped the bread here for animals to eat? Is this a common practice?

@Kvelli - Man (die Regierung) koennte schon

@quilly - Oups ;)
Yes, they eat anything, but that doesn't mean one should let them just because one has a trash problem?!

@Crafty - Amazing or disgusting?

@Thom - there's not much else for them here other than rocks and sand, so they eat anything they find

@Tyo0 - They had the goats help them, before they killed the pigs.
Now they have too much trash, because the goats can't do it all.

@Dan - The rats are here anyway.
Here it's not so bad yet.
We live on a compound where they clean up fairly well.
Outside.
Different story....

@Stine - No, common practice would be to let the goats roam free in the streets and let them eat ALL the trash they can find.
But there are too many tourists here that would tell the whole world.
Guess they don't want that.

I would guess that before garbage trucks, there were goats...I guess that is true recycling... Thank you for participating in Nature Notes.. I am awarding you the "Green Thinker" award....Michelle

My daughter read a book yesterday about a goat. He like the coat, the tin can, and other scraps - but then he eats some soap. He doesn't like the foam. They seem to be good vacuum cleaners, these goats.

Goats are amazing in terms of what they'll eat. I lived with friends in an old farm house a long time ago and we had a goat who literally tried to eat clothes off the clothes line.

@Carver - the sad thing here is that they LET them eat everything and think it's normal!
