UFOs??

Yesterday morning when shooting a beautiful sunrise from our balcony

I heard a weird noise. Not the normal airplane noise that I hear a few times a day when those big ships fly in the weirdest angles quite low over the house.

Follow up:

The round thing is a sign, just for you to see the relation of size

And the I saw it.
It didn’t only sound weird, it looked weird too.

Well, this is the attempted close up.
By then I was shivering with cold. Not the Best moment to take pictures handheld.
Looks like a military plane to me?

Wow..that is an incredible sky! I believe that looks like a military plane to me too...but I have no idea :( great shots though

That is either a Short (as in Short Brothers, of Ireland) airliner or a Russian military ship - they look a lot alike at the angle and distance your picture is taken from. Either way, the weird sound was probably the new high-efficiency turbo-fan jet engines.

Hi there Nicole. :) I think it is an A380 (Airbus)

They make an enormous noice. It looks like it is in close approach clear to land.

Yes, one of the things I love here at the ocean, the crystal blue sky :)
I wish the close up plane shot was better, but too much coffee and freezing doesn't give you a steady hand :P

Yes, it's close to landing.
But an A380? This looks like a Cargo plane of sorts.

I am quite confident that is not an AirBus. Looks more like a Soviet Heavy Transport aircraft.
But then again I am not sure.

In two of the pictures (the far off and last one) it looks like a Harrier. Strange sound, and cool to watch. They can hover. Great pics as usual.
