Magnificent birds!
Egypt 2009
And to give you the dimensions
Another catch from my lucky day at the Golf course on the 15th this months. Not THE greatest Raptor in flight shot, but a bit better than the ones I got over the last 3 years
Yesterday I started remodeling my 2011 and my Lifelist. I made it more in List form and finally get it into the right taxonomic order. It’s still in the working and it will be a while (One day I will have it ‘politically’ correct
).
I wanted to add photos to the species list too (if you click on the 2011 list you will see what I mean). But adding them in word is a pain and linking them here will not work, since I need to do the updates in word. I will figure it out one day,…. (I actually just tried & copied the blog stuff to word and the pics show up there, so there might be hope
)

The Black Kite is a common passage migrant for Kuwait. He winters in Africa and breeds in forests near lakes, rivers or wetlands. Human settlements don’t bother him too much if they are close by.
He feeds on fish, but also on on roadkill or Leftovers in harbours. He’s quite social and nests in trees.
His height is approx. 48-48cm and his Wingspan is about 130 – 155cm.
