Seen in Sharm el Sheikh, Oct 9th 2009.

Most likely a Juv. European Turtle dove, but could be an Oriental, not 100% sure (discussion on Birdforum and more Info about Europ. Turtle doves on Opus).

What I am doing right now is called collecting armchair ticks (ticks = adding Lifers to your List). Going through my photo archives and ID-ing (or letting people ID) the mystery birds left there. This is Lifer number 196, almost at the first barrier of 200 birds :) .

One thing I realized going through the 2009 shots from Egypt and the file names is, that I did come a long way since then. The Common Kestrel for example had the name tag ‘falcon’. Which is not entirely incorrect, but,… And I could easily ID birds like the ‘Booted Eagle’ and ‘Black Kite’, which were left as UN-IDed birds :) Nice :)

I also started on rebuilding my pages with places for birding and nature parks, etc. It is a long way to go, but at least I made the Start.

Turtle Dove (European), Turteltaube, Streptopelia turtur
