Some more from my archives from May 2005.
I had hoped to post these with ID’s, but despite finding some good ID guides online, I had not much luck in getting any closer to ID-ing these fellows. If anyone of you has a clue, let me know.
The task of going through my archives and ID all the critters in there and delete, delete, delete is still as daunting as it was on the day I started *sigh*. Why can’t pics ID and sort themselves?
The first one I thought could belong to the ‘Podisus brevispinus‘ family.
Another idea for number one is the ‘Coreus marginatus’ (Dock Bug) family. The ‘tail’ end doesn’t fit though. Maybe a subspecies?
Number two looks at least a little similar to a ‘Palomena prasina’ or ‘Green Shield bug’. The colours of the antenna are a bit off though and the eyes pop out more on my fellow.
OK, seems number two is more like a ‘Nezara viridula‘, a Green vegetable bug (found here – for anyone searching the Asian region it’s at least a start – for other regions, check my sidebar, I added more links).
The third one seems to be a ‘Dolycoris baccarum‘ – a Hairy or Sloe Shield bug
